Main Menu Post History
The Post History Page is an ongoing project. Much of the information is held by you the members. We are particularly looking for information and pictures of previous Post Homes, past Commanders, and any other information that is available. If you have any information that would be appropriate for this section please contact the Webmaster.

A Short History of Our Post Homes

The post was formed in VFW post 2185 on Sherman Ave.
The first several organizational meetings were held there.
The first seperate building was in the original commander's, James Bryant, garage on Arnold Ave. in Bayou George. The post then moved to a building on Rt. 77 in Southport. I am still looking for photos of these locations.
I haven't found a picture of the building in Southport
but this is the sign that was out in front.
The first building purchased by the post is now known as
"the Old Blockbuster Post". This post was located on the
corner of Ohio Ave. and 17th Ave. in Lynn Haven. It was
on the site currently occupied by Blockbuster Video.
This post was located on Ohio Ave. and 5th Ave. in Lynn
Haven. It was originally going to be a short term home
during the construction of the curent post. Due to delays
in construction we spent over two years at this location.
Our current post home located at 400 Aberdeen Parkway.
